Follow these simple steps to sign into the SkyBell app and connect your SkyBell device to your SkyBell account.
Before You Start:
- Download the latest version of the SkyBell App (Click Here if You Need the App)
- Please stand near the SkyBell during the syncing process.
- Please make sure to start the syncing process while connected to your home network (not the SkyBell network), as you need internet access for the first few steps.
- Be sure you know your Wi-Fi Password, have it ready you will need it later.
- Ensure the SkyBell is flashing RED / GREEN; If not, press and hold the doorbell button until the LED's flash GREEN.
Step 1 (Open the SkyBell app and Sign In)
- Open the SkyBell app from your smart device home screen.
- If you aren't signed in:
- Enter your SkyBell account email address.
- Enter your SkyBell account password.
- Tap the Sign in button.
- If you don't remember your SkyBell account password, tap Forgot password?
- If you don't have an account, tap Sign Up at the bottom of the screen
Step 2 (Add New SkyBell)
If there is no SkyBell device attached to your account (which is the case, if you have just created your SkyBell account), you will see the following:
- Stay up-to-date. Would you like to be notified when someone arrives at your door?
- "YES, PLEASE"
- "Not right now"
- You don’t have any devices yet. Would you like to add one now?
- ‘Add a Device’ or press the (+) icon on the top right
If you do not see the Add a SkyBell screen, do the following:
- Tap the Account button.
- Under the MY DEVICES section, tap the + Add New SkyBell button.
- This will take you to the correct screen.
- Under the MY DEVICES section, tap the + Add New SkyBell button.
- Tap the LET'S START button at the bottom of the screen.
- TIP: If you are unable to tap LET'S START, ensure you are connected to the internet and start over from the My Devices page.
Step 3 (Enter Sync Mode)
Put the SkyBell device into Sync Mode. The SkyBell device is in Sync Mode when the LED is blinking RED / GREEN.
- If your SkyBell device is already in Sync Mode (LED blinking RED / GREEN), tap the Continue button at the bottom of the screen.
- If not, press & hold the SkyBell device's button until the LED slowly blinks GREEN.
- Once the LED blinks GREEN, let go and wait until the device starts to blink GREEN / RED.
- The device will be in Sync Mode for the next 5 minutes.
- Once the LED blinks GREEN, let go and wait until the device starts to blink GREEN / RED.
Step 4 (Connect to your SkyBell)
- Return to the SkyBell App
- Tap the SEARCH AND CONNECT TO SKYBELL button at the bottom of the screen.
- In Sync Mode the SkyBell device creates a temporary ad-hoc Wi-Fi network. The SkyBell app automatically connects to this Wi-Fi network to configure the SkyBell device.
- Tap the JOIN / CONNECT button to connect to the SkyBell
Step 5 (Configure SkyBell)
- Your SkyBell will now search for local Wi-Fi networks within its vicinity
- TIP: If no networks are found, tap the RETRY SCAN button
- Select your home network name.
- TIP: If you don't see your network, check that it isn't already highlighted in green
- Tap the SELECT THIS NETWORK button under the Wi-Fi network highlighted in green.
Step 6 (Connect to the web)
- Enter your home network password.
- TIP: Tap on the eye-ball icon to see what you are typing in to prevent typos.
- Tap the CONNECT SKYBELL TO INTERNET button at the bottom of the screen.
- TIP: Dismiss your keyboard if you don't see the button. Try tapping return/enter to close the keyboard
Step 7 (Configuring)
- The app and SkyBell will begin to flash ORANGE.
- Once the Wi-Fi password is accepted, the app and SkyBell begin to flash BLUE / GREEN as the SkyBell is connected to the server.
- Finally, the SkyBell and app will show SOLID GREEN.
- Success: Your SkyBell is ready to use!
- Tap the COMPLETE button at the bottom of the screen.

NOTE: -- If the home Wi-Fi Password you enter in is not correct, the SkyBell LEDs will flash ORANGE for a moment, then revert back to GREEN/RED. -- If your Router or Modem is blocking the required ports, The SkyBell will progress from ORANGE to BLUE/GREEN, then revert back to GREEN/RED. If either event happens, you will need to address the specific cause and attempt to sync again. |
Step 9 (Complete)
You will be returned to the My Devices page within the app and your SkyBell is ready to use.
