Starting with Gen5 Firmware Version 1.1.3 we introduced what is currently being called Vacancy Mode.
What is Vacancy Mode?
When the device is in Vacancy Mode it will have a LIGHT BLUE LED color, and it will still ring a mechanical chime. However, all other features (Digital Chime, Wireless Chime, Video Doorbell, etc...) are unavailable until you sync the device up with the SkyBell Gen5 app to Wi-Fi.
How Do I Exit Vacancy Mode?
To get out of Vacancy Mode, press and hold the button until the SkyBell flashes GREEN, then let go. After a few moments the SkyBell will start to flash RED/GREEN and now you can follow the sync process to connect the SkyBell to your Wifi using the Gen5 SkyBell App.

How Do I Enter Vacancy Mode?
If you have a device on a residence, and don't currently need an active Video Doorbell, you can place the device in Vacancy Mode by pressing the SkyBell Button, until the LED's FLASH LIGHT BLUE and then letting go.
The pattern will be:
FLASHING GREEN >> FLASHING DARK BLUE >> FLASHING YELLOW >> FLASHING LIGHT BLUE.
** NOTE: This will turn off all functionality of the SkyBell Video Doorbell**
Why did we add this feature?
Vacancy Mode was created for companies that install SkyBell devices in bulk and wish to have the devices on the wall for residents of apartments or condos, but they do not want the device to constantly flash RED/GREEN or power cycle (Alternating FLASHING ORANGE and SOLID YELLOW) while waiting for a new occupant. While intended for this purpose, others who want to have the device, but have not had a chance to setup the service, can take advantage of Vacancy Mode too.
