With RapidSOS, help in any kind of emergency is simply one touch away. Once enabled, the Live View screen of your SkyBell will have a new, "Call Emergency Services" button that will connect you to the 911 service center geographically located where your SkyBell Video Doorbell is located. Not only will you be able to contact 911 from your SkyBell on your front door, but a snapshot from your SkyBell will be forwarded to the 911 Call Center. * Available for Premium Subscribers on SkyBell Gen5 App Only. |
How To Setup RapidSOS
- You must be a SkyBell Premium Services Subscriber, click here to learn more about Premium Services.
- Once premium services are enabled, Tap on MY DEVICES.
- In MY DEVICES tap the GEAR icon on the upper right of the SkyBell on your front door.
- Scroll down to the setting that says Manage RapidSOS.
- RapidSOS will first try and show your location on a map. If this location is correct, continue. If not tap on the button that says, "CHOOSE NEW LOCATION".
- Select a new location by entering in the physical address of the SkyBell in the search bar.
- The map will move to the searched location. Move the pin around by moving the map to focus in on the exact location.
- Once the correct location is entered tap the CHECK MARK on the upper right of the screen.
- RapidSOS will first try and show your location on a map. If this location is correct, continue. If not tap on the button that says, "CHOOSE NEW LOCATION".
- With the map location selected, fill in all the required fields, this will assist emergency services in case of an emergency.
- You must provide a valid phone number that you will answer when called. When triggered, RapidSOS services will call the number provided.
- Additional fields are included for emergency contacts who can be contacted if an emergency is triggered.
- Once the relevant information is entered, select save.
- You will see the confirmation that everything is saved.
- You will also see an option to remove the RapidSOS from the associated device.
- If you remove RapidSOS from the device, you will need to set it up again in order for it to work.
- To confirm that RapidSOS is setup, navigate back to MY DEVICES, and you will see the RapidSOS logo (A Blue and Red Cross) just below the Gear Icon.
How To Use RapidSOS
- To trigger an emergency 911 call from RapidSOS you will need to be in MY DEVICES and be watching a LIVE STREAM.
- At any time during the live stream, you can trigger RapidSOS by PRESSING and HOLDING the Green House Shield icon on the upper right corner of the Live Stream Page.
- As you press and hold the Green House Shield icon your device will vibrate, and under your finger the icon will start to fill in with a red status bar.
- The status bar takes a couple of seconds to fully fill in and trigger a 911 call.
- To stop RapidSOS from triggering, lift your finger before the status bar is complete, or before approximately three seconds.
- If the status bar does not completely fill in, the call is not complete, and RapidSOS will not be triggered.

- If the RapidSOS is triggered, you will receive a confirmation phone call to the number you provided during setup.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT RAPIDSOSYou can add RapidSOS to each SkyBell Video Doorbell device you have on your account. You will need to assign each device a physical address to ensure proper operation. When triggered, RapidSOS services will call the number provided. RapidSOS is tied to your physical address that you confirmed. If you need emergency services at a location other than the assigned address of the SkyBell Video Doorbell, you must dial 911 directly from your phone. In the event that RapidSOS is unable to connect, you will need to dial 911 directly from your phone if you require emergency services. If you remove RapidSOS from the device or factory reset your device, you will need to set it up again in order for it to work. |
