ATTENTION SKYBELL HD APP ANDROID USERS

Because of changes by Google to the Google/Android API we were forced to fast-track the migration process for our customers. On 11/20/2023 we published a special Android update of the older SkyBell HD app in order to bring it back into active status on the Google Play Store for all Android users. The SkyBell HD app for Android is a custom app that has limited features and is intended solely to help Android users migrate from the old SkyBell server and platform, over to the new SkyBell (Gen5) platform. The SkyBell HD app will be entering retirement shortly after the new year, so we highly recommend migrating sooner, rather than later. |

So, why are we doing this?
Because of changes made by Google to the Google/Android API we were forced to fast-track the migration process for our customers. Google is updating their code infrastructure that runs in the background of their mobile devices and because of this change there are parts of the Google code that are no longer supported. This has forced developers such as us, to make several changes to our apps that need to use the Google/Android API's.
Our engineering, development, and operations team reviewed what it would take to make the changes needed on the old SkyBell HD app. We realized that the time, cost, and effort was counterproductive to our efforts to move forward and get everyone on the new SkyBell Gen5 application which is built with new technologies and code in mind.
So, after weighing the pros and cons of this choice we decided that it's time to proactively have everyone migrate and experience the amazing features and enhancements in the new SkyBell Android App.
