If your SkyBell HD is not responding and the LED is stuck on solid Yellow (neon green). You may need to check a couple of things to ensure that it is working.
Power cycle and physical inspection:
- Remove SkyBell HD from the wall and disconnect from power.
- There is a small set screw on the bottom, loosen to the point where the SkyBell can be lifted easily off the mount. Its a very small screw, be mindful and if you don't need to, don't take it out entirely.
- Wait 60 seconds after the LED lights go out.
-
Check the back of the SkyBell and see if there is any bulging or arching on the backside of the SkyBell device.
-
Check to ensure the metal contacts on the back of the SkyBell are not pushed in, this will also prevent the device from charging. You may need to turn the terminal screws slightly (one quarter turn) to the left in order to raise them up and make better contact with the SkyBell.
-
- Place the SkyBell back on the mount, and tighten the setscrew until it is snug, do not over tighten or you may strip the screw.
- Let the SkyBell power on.
- You will see the same Yellow (neon green) LED color, after a couple of minutes it should cycle to Orange and then Green/Blue, and reconnect.
If the device stays in the Yellow (neon green) startup mode for more than 5 minutes. You may want to hard reset the device while powered up.
Hard Reset *
While powered up, follow these steps:
- Hard Reset - Press and hold the SkyBell Button down.
- While holding the button down the SkyBell LEDs will rapidly blink Green, then flash Red/Green, then blink Blue, then blink Yellow.
- Let go of the button when the LED is flashing Yellow.
- Once you let go the SkyBell LED will go Solid Yellow as it boots up.
- After the device boots up the LED will alternate Red/Green. The device is now in Sync Mode.
- While holding the button down the SkyBell LEDs will rapidly blink Green, then flash Red/Green, then blink Blue, then blink Yellow.
*Please Note: Hard reset will set the device back to factory settings and will require a full re-sync.
